is 5% inspiration and 95% technical and professional
management."

From
the first definition of your project brief to issuing
the final certificate at the end of the defects liability
period, Peter Dalton Architects carefully manages the
process of procuring your building so that your Investment
is protected by sound professional practice.
In todays world of rising uncertainty, and increasingly
complex regulatory requirements, only sound professional
standards can ensure that the value of your building
investment is protected during the time that it will
take from conception to completion.
It also requires clear focus combined with co-ordination
of diverse professional inputs
The experience of managing major projects involving
a diverse professional team to achieve a clearly defined
goal while having to satisfy a variety of authorities
and interested parties has honed the skill of Peter
Dalton Architects to enable it to project manage any
architectural project.
Building projects take a number of years from conception
to completion. Maintaining focus on the primary objectives
throughout the various stages is critical to a successful
result.
Architectural project management requires maintaining
this focus while ensuring the performance of a varied
team of professionals across many disciplines during
design and preparation of the development application,
the construction certificate, the building tender documents,
and administration of the building contract.
How do we do it ?
By
ensuring that your expectations are realistically
balanced against your budget.
By
engaging the right sub-consultants for Your Project.
By
ensuring proper management of the projects
building cost.
By
setting appropriate standards for documentation
at every stage of the project.
By
fulfilling the architects management responsibilities
required under the building contract.
BY BEING THE PROJECT MANAGER FOR YOUR PROJECT
Firm and diplomatic management
It also requires firm and diplomatic management during
Councils assessment of the development application,
and throughout the construction of the building.
During the development application assessment, Council
officers, Councillors, neighbours and community groups
may have interests and agendas which are different from
the clients. Management during this assessment requires
anticipation during the DA preparation of these interests
and agendas and development of responses and management
strategies which assist in guiding the application through
to an approval.
During construction the architects management
role is defined by the building contract. The architect,
while not a party to the contract, has significant duties
and obligations including to act fairly to both the
builder and the client.
It requires firm and diplomatic management to ensure
that any of the difficulties that may arise with construction
are resolved in the best interest of the project. BACK
